金利と年数をかけた数字が72になると元金が倍になるというもの。金利が8%なら9年で倍に、金利が2％なら36年かかる。いずれにせよ年数がながいほうが有利に。

When the number multiplied by interest rate and number of years becomes 72, the principal is doubled. If the interest rate is 8% it will double in 9 years, 36years if the interest rate is 2%. In any case it is advantageous to have a longer age.
