知らない機能｜Unknown Features

地方に行くとレンタカーを借りる。車種によってはカーナビの使い勝手が悪いので、スマホスタンドを車につける。今回借りた車はカーナビが大きくてスマホスタンドを設置する余地がない。せめて音楽だけでもと思っていたら、いきなりスマホに「CarPlay」という表示が現れた。カーナビ画面にはスマホが表示されている。おお、なんだなんだ、とても便利ではないか。よくみるとiPhoneにアイコンこそないものの、設定画面がある。初版がリリースされたのは2014年らしい。9年間せっせとスマホを使いこなしていたつもりでいたけれど、知らなかった機能もあるんだなぁ。（絵と文：サカキテツ朗）

When I go to a rural area, I rent a car. Depending on the type of car, the in-car navigation system is not easy to use, so I attach a phone stand to the car. The car I rented this time had a large car navigation system and no room for a phone stand. When I thought I could at least play music, the "CarPlay" display suddenly appeared on my phone. The phone appears on the car navigation screen. Oh, what the heck, isn't this very convenient? A closer look reveals that although there is no icon on the iPhone, there is a settings screen.
