人ソムリエ｜Human Sommelier｜2022/06/29

自分の好みのワインはあるものの、そればかり飲んでいるわけではない。目の前の料理に合わせたワインのセレクションも楽しみの一つだ。ピタリとくる料理とワインは単なる足し算ではなく、掛け算とでもいうようなお互いの魅力をさらにひき出してくれる。そのためにはソムリエの存在は欠かせない。無数にあるワインから料理の可能性をひきだしてくれるワインを選ぶ。自分には全くできない才能と努力だ。考えてみると人もワインと同じではないだろうか。単体では目立たない感じの人でも、あるプロジェクトとマッチングした時にその人が生み出す可能性にびっくりすることもある。ワインのようにそんな人を選んでくれるソムリエもいるといいのだが。（絵と文：サカキテツ朗）
I have my favorite wine, but I don't drink that much. One of the pleasures is the selection of wines that match the food in front of me. The perfect food and wine are not just additions, but they bring out the charm of each other, such as a multiplier. For that purpose, the existence of a sommelier is indispensable. They choose wines that bring out the possibilities of cooking from the myriad of wines. It's a talent and effort that I can't do at all. I think people are the same as wine. Even people who don't stand out on their own can be surprised at the possibilities they create when matching a project.
