ムスメの一歳誕生日に選び取りカードを作った。カードにそれぞれいろんな絵が描いて、取ったカードで将来を占うものだ。ムスメは目の前に並べられたカードを一通り眺め、２枚のカードを選んだ。肉の絵が描いてあるものと、ギターの描いてあるカードだ。そういえば生まれて間もない頃に看護婦さんにムスメがミルクではなく大人のご飯に興味を示したり、音楽で身体を揺らすって言っていたのを思い出す。このままいけばミュージシャンかシェフ。というか単なる親バカだなぁ。（絵と文：サカキテツ朗）
I made a selection card for my daughter's first birthday. I draw various pictures on each card, and she would take the cards which are fortune-telling in the future. She looked through the cards lined up in front of her and chose two cards. One with a picture of meat and one with a guitar. I remember when she was just born, a nurse told me that my daughter was interested in adult rice instead of milk and shaking her body with music. If she keeps going like this, she will be a musician or a chef. Or it must be a parents' wish. -Text and illustration by Ted Sakaki
