Back and Front|2021/02/09

A rental apartment was built in the vacant lot next to my house. It's a cheap kid made from white panels that are really for rent. It's a shame that I used to feel comfortable hearing little birds' singing in the green trees. I was surprised to hear a voice, "It's not bad looking of the apartment." I was wondering if that whiteness was good, but the front façade was completely different. It looks like a stone and wood louver is certainly not bad. I think the back side I was looking at looks like a warehouse in a separate building. It may be okay for people who live there to never see the white back side, but for me it doesn't feel right. However, it may be the correct answer to properly add the sharpness of where I spend money and where I don't. -Text and illustration by Ted Sakaki
