VR体験｜VR Experience

街を歩いていたら、VRで体験しませんかというイベントをやっていた。VRのゴーグルをつけて、トラックに設置されたイスに座ると、映像に合わせて椅子が揺れたり、風を感じたりする。ああ、実際に体験するとこんな感じなんだろうなぁと思え、わずか３分くらいの体験だったけど楽しかった。となるはずだったけど、スタッフさんからの注意事項が多すぎて気持ちがそこまでいけなかった。「勝手に装着しないでください」から始まって、ゴーグルのレンズは触るなと続き、ゴーグルの向きを逆にしただけで厳重注意。注意事項の連発でだんだん気持ちが「楽しさ」から「気をつけないと」に変わってしまった。実体験は大変だから気軽にVRでというのが本筋だろうけど、なんだかややこしい。（絵と文：サカキテツ朗）

When I was walking around town, I saw an event that offered a VR experience. I put on VR goggles and sat on a chair set up on a truck, and the chair swayed and I felt the wind in time with the video. I should have thought, "Oh, this is what it must be like to actually experience this," and I enjoyed the experience even for a short time. But there were too many warnings from the staff to let my mind go that far. Starting with "Do not put on the goggles without permission," followed by "Do not touch the lens of the goggles," I was given a severe warning just for turning the goggles the other way. The barrage of warnings gradually changed my feelings from "enjoyment" to "be careful”. I guess the main idea is to use VR casually because it's hard to experience the real thing, but it's kind of complicated. -Text and illustration by Ted Sakaki
