人は見た目｜Judge by Looking

昔よく「人を見た目で判断してはダメ」ということが言われた。確かに外見だけではわからないことも多いと思う。しかし初めて会うような人の情報は「名前」や「見た目」くらいしかないことが多い。場合によっては「見た目」だけのこともある。その後話をしたりすることによって「肩書き」「経歴」「性格」などの情報を付加してゆく。そういう意味でも「見た目」はその人のベースとなる情報になる。ただ面白いのは「見た目」がいい方が良いわけでもないというところだ。「見た目」は怖そうだけど実は優しいとかギャップがある方が魅力的だったりすることもある。なかなか面白そうなテーマかもしれないなぁ。（絵と文：サカキテツ朗）

In the old days, it was often said, "Don't judge people by their appearance." I think there are many things that are true. However, when meeting someone for the first time, most of the information is limited to "name" and "appearance". Sometimes it's just "looks". After that, information such as "title", "career", and "personality" is added by talking. In that sense, "appearance" becomes the base information of the person. But what's interesting is that "looking" isn't necessarily better. "Appearance" may look scary, but in reality it's kinder, and there are times when it's more attractive to have a gap.
