Eye forLooking Near & Far|2022/06/27

Recently it has become difficult to see my hands. It's an age of presbyopia and I cannot see the fashionable menu of small letters in the dark bar at night. Fortunately, I had no inconvenience with bifocal contact lenses, but it seemed that my presbyopia had progressed and it became difficult to see. When I went to an optometrist and matched the lens, I could see the left eye well, but not the right eye. According to the staff of inspecting, the distance was adjusted to the right eye of the dominant eye, and the near eye was adjusted to the left eye. I got advice that I should see with both eyes instead of one eye. It may be that it's easier to live if I am a little vague, rather than seeing it near or far like when I was young. -Text and illustration by Ted Sakaki
