ブタの貯金箱の悲劇｜The Tragedy of the Piggy Bank｜2021/10/14

わが家のリビングには金色のブタの貯金箱がいる。長らく小銭を貯めてくれていた。たまに銀行で両替していたのだが、結構な金額になるので、ちょっと嬉しかった。ここ数年怠っていたので小銭が溢れている。いつか両替をと思っていたら、今日の新聞で小銭の入金手数料がかかるということを知った。しかも銀行ではすでに有料化されていた。スイカやペイペイで以前よりは小銭は減ったものの、まだ小銭はたまっていた。小銭を持つのが嫌でブタの貯金箱にいれていたのだが、もう小銭を貯めるという習慣はやめないといけないだろう。我が家だけでなく、いろんな家で役割を終え泣いているブタがいるに違いない。（絵と文：サカキテツ朗） 

There is a golden piggy bank in my living room. He has been saving coins for a long time. I used to exchange money at the bank once in a while, and I was a little happy because it was a fair amount of money. I've been neglected for the last few years, so he is full of coins. When I was thinking of exchanging money someday, I learned from today's newspaper that there will be a coin deposit fee. Moreover, banks were already charged. I often pay with Suica and Credit cards, so I have less coins than before, but he still has a lot of coins. I didn't like to have coins, so I put them in a piggy bank.
