怪盗ルビー｜Phantom Thief Ruby｜2021/01/28

白昼堂々銀座で３０億円のルビーの原石が盗まれたという。ちょうど銀座に打合せに行こうとしたら、その先に人だかりができている。取材のカメラが集まり、警察官が黄色い警戒線を張り通行止めにしている。どうやらその現場らしい。１０数台のパトカーが止まり、鑑識の人が忙しく出入りしている。野次馬の中に実は怪盗ルビイかルパン三世か、ピンクパンサーがいるかもしれないと考えるとドキドキしてしまう。結局盗まれたのではなかったらしいのだが、殺人や強盗ではなく、「白昼堂々」とか「ルビーの原石」とか「盗難」ってちょっと映画のようでワクワクするなぁ。 （絵と文：サカキテツ朗）

 I got the news that a ruby gemstone of 3 billion yen was stolen in Ginza in the daytime. When I was about to go to Ginza for a meeting, there was a crowd ahead of me. Cameras for interviews were gathering, and police officers were closing the road with a yellow warning line. Apparently it seems to be the site. A dozen police cars have stopped, and forensic people were busy coming and going. I was thrilled to think that there may actually be a phantom thief Ruby, Lupine III, or Pink Panther among the rubberneckers. It seems that it wasn't stolen after all, but it's not a murder or a robbery, but "daytime", "ruby gemstone", and "theft" are a bit like a movie and I'm excited. -Text and illustration by Ted Sakaki
