好奇心の根源は何か｜What is the root of Curiosity?

教育においてどのように好奇心、興味や関心を持たせるかということが最近のボクのテーマの一つだ。そもそも好奇心とはどうやったら湧いてくるのだろうか。そんな問いに「好奇心は自身の体験・経験と結びついて生まれるもの」という話を聞いた。自身に全く経験値がないものだと好奇心が生まれにくく、経験値が高いと生まれやすくなる。そのためにご自身の子供にはあらゆる体験や経験をさせようとしているという。確かに自分の中に体験がないことはなかなかイメージしにくい。強制的に幅広い体験をすることによってさまざまな分野での好奇心が生まれるかどうか試してみよう。（絵と文：サカキテツ朗）

One of my recent themes in education is how to develop curiosity and interest. How does curiosity arise in the first place? In response to this question, I was told that curiosity is born when it is connected to one's own experiences. Therefore, if you have no experience at all, curiosity is difficult to be born, but if you have a lot of experience, curiosity is easy to be born. This is why she tries to expose her children to all kinds of experiences. Indeed, it is difficult to imagine something that one does not have any experience with.
